Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise for GCC provides all the functionality of its enterprise counterpart (Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise) but is hosted in a separate, secured environment and adds compliance features like accreditations, personnel screening, and data residency that enable the service to meet the unique needs of US Government customers. State and local government customers that require compliance-level data protection and security can also take advantage of Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise for GCC. Eligibility and Validation: Office 365 Government plans are available to (1) qualified government entities, including US federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial government entities, and (2) other entities (subject to validation of eligibility) who handle data subject to government regulations and requirements, where use of Office 365 Government is appropriate to meet these regulations and requirements. Click on the links below for more information about GCC customer Eligibility and Validation. When completing the GCC approval form, please ensure that the customer name on the form is no longer than 50 characters. Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise provides the world’s leading productivity software from Microsoft for installation on user desktop or laptop computers. Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise allows users to access Office experiences on up to five PCs or Macs and on their mobile devices. Unlike traditional Office installations that were tied to the computers on which it was installed, Apps for Enterprise is connected to the users and enables flexible new deployment options. Please note: The approval and provisioning of net-new GCC tenants may take up to five (5) business days to complete. Microsoft Security Defaults Microsoft began turning Security Defaults on for all net new customer tenants on Feb. 29, 2020, and as a result, multifactor authentication (MFA) is turned on for those customers. Generally, the Security Defaults are only a hard requirement for Partner tenants and not customer tenants. To turn the Defaults off for your customer, go to Admin Centers>Azure Active Directory>Azure Active Directory (Again)>Properties>Manage Security Defaults>Toggle to No. Click here for more detailed overview and considerations around SMTP relay, MFA enforcements, Exchange Online Powershell scripts and a full FAQ.
