Microsoft Power BI Premium P1 for Government enables more users in your organization to get the most out of Power BI with better performance and responsiveness. Power BI Premium is a tenant-level Microsoft 365 subscription with P SKUs (P1-P5) for embedding and enterprise features, requiring a monthly or yearly commitment, billed monthly, and includes a license to install Power BI Report Server on-premises.
Power BI Premium subscriptions are purchased by administrators in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Specifically, only Global administrators or Billing Administrators can purchase SKUs. When purchased, the tenant receives a corresponding number of v-cores to assign to capacities, known as v-core pooling. Purchasing a P1 SKU provides the tenant with 8 v-cores and 25 GB of RAM.
Government/GCC
Microsoft Power BI Premium P1 for Government provides all the functionality of its enterprise counterpart (Microsoft Power BI Premium P1) but is hosted in a separate, secured environment and adds compliance features like accreditations, personnel screening, and data residency that enable the service to meet the unique needs of US Government customers. State and local government customers that require compliance-level data protection and security can also take advantage of Microsoft Power BI Premium P1 for Government.
Eligibility and Validation: Microsoft Power BI Government plans are available to (1) qualified government entities, including US federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial government entities, and (2) other entities (subject to validation of eligibility) who handle data subject to government regulations and requirements, where use of Microsoft Power BI Government is appropriate to meet these regulations and requirements.
